Flormar Nail Polishes

***gift from friend***

These are the other polishes I've forgotten about. None of them have names!!! That's a bit weird, but I absolutely love the green one (far right). It's so metallic, and its totally opaque with one coat. I just painted my toes with that one. The others are a bit boring so I haven't used them yet. This reminds me, I don't think I have a "color of the year" polish- I only have sally hansen "emerald city" but I always used it for Christmas.

Bourjois Blush: Rose Frisson

I bought this blush a while back, it is called "Rose Frisson". I don't think it's very exciting ("frisson") myself, but its a lovely shade that would compliment many, in my opinion.

It's just so light and pretty.  It has a fairly heavy powdery, flowery scent but to me it was pleasant.  It's a perfect blush for me since I don't like to wear too much, this is just so easy to apply without overdoing it.

Pros:  Flattering shade, delicate
Cons:  I had to throw the brush away, it might not be pigmented enough for some

Rimmel Apocalips Swatches

These are a few I forgot to post about! Apacoliptic, Big Bang, and Galaxy. I think these are one of my favorite lip products of all time, but I've heard they have been getting a bad rap.... Do you guys love them or hate them?

Bottom swatches are same, just on different skin tone... Had a "helper" ;)

L'Oreal Infallible: Golden Emerald

I think this is one of the most accurately named products I've seen in a while.... beautiful! And I finally get my emerald of the year, at least in eyeshadow.

Nailstation Polish: Marie-Antoinette

Another really awesome polish I never used! It's from the "Chrome" collection- it's kind of multi-chrome- blue, yellow, green, but really weak, only at the right angle and lighting, so on me it looks really metallic green. Still beautiful!

Fyrinnae Hitched Eyeshadow

I bought this because although its not everyday I wear red eyeshadow, I do like to have a nice red to use on occasion. I have Sugarpills Love +, but I heard this one was "metallic red". It isn't really that red on me. More on that later.... On to the photos!

No, its not your computer screen, I swear it's orange!!! Not even the pan looks red to me :(

Hitched, Inglot 605, Inglot 607, Sugarpill Love +

Far Right: Illamasqua Panic Blush

I thought right away it was similar to the Inglot shadows and not close to the red products I have.  I viewed two different blogs where it looked red, and I mean red, so I was disappointed, even angry about mine.  I heard that their customer service was basically nonexistent, so I didn't expect it, but they responded to me within a couple of hours, which I definitely appreciate!

They said that the red dye adapts to a person's ph level. I am not an uneducated person but chemistry, I have no clue about, so it sounds like a reasonable explanation to me.... except that 1. it doesn't look red in the pan, 2. two of my friends with different tones tried it, and it was orange on both of them too, and 3. I tried it over nude, black, white, even pixie epoxy and never got the red I saw on the blogs I looked at. But if I accept their explanation, I know why mine isn't red, but I definitely would not have purchased if I knew what I would really get, especially since its similar to stuff I already have. Pixie epoxy did tend to bring out the most red, but I found it a bit hard to use with pressed product, and I only ever got a brick type of red. Its frustrating to me.

On the plus side, the pigmentation is really good.

Sleek Lip 4 Palette: Mardi Gras

I wanted to try one of these lipstick palettes, but I read so many mixed reviews I couldnt decide. Then I saw this one was a limited edition so I went ahead with it.

I swatched them clockwise, so the two shades on the left side are really, really stiff. The two on the right are really, really soft, glossy. I didn't know this so I actually dug my lip brush in waaaaay too hard and now the two soft ones are kinda a mess!

The purple is called Rio and despite the stiff texture, it isn't matte. I found it a bit tricky to get just the right amount, but honestly I would buy this whole palette just for that purple, it is just so perfect. Firework is matte and its a bit dry but wearable, although it is my least fave. The other two are glossy but not slippery, I found it best to apply them lightly though. They ALL stain!! They're really saturated in pigmentation, and the stains lasted me all day, I even used lip balm and they didn't budge. Masquerade was probably my favorite stained color- pink but not over the top, and it was cool to have colored lips all day. Carnival stained my lips for over 24 hours- through eating, drinking, showering, brushing my teeth, sleeping, I mean that shade did not want to leave my lips!!!

L to R: Rio, Carnival, Firework, Masquerade

I thought this palette was really awesome, great quality and really convenient.  I am not a lipstick-in-a-tube kind of person, so I absolutely loooove this palette and I'd like to buy another, if I can find the right shades. Maybe Havana will be my next choice?  For me all of these are really wearable except Rio but I knew that!

Pros: exceptionally long lasting, excellent pigmentation, portable
Cons: I thought Firework was kind of a dud

Oh and also, it says you can mix them, but for me that didn't work too well with the different textures, I think most of the product ended up on my brush- but I tried:

Check This Out!!

This has got to be one of the most awesome plates ever!!! I do not even have time for stamping anymore but I ordered this just now, along with a few others.... Moyou.co.uk

Mystical Dragon Nail Polish

*** Gift from Friend ***

I was trying to find polishes I have that are similar to Chanel Azure, and I totally forgot I even had this!! I think the name is so cool, and it's really an awesome polish- lasted several days on me, and it was even easy to remove.  The problem is, I don't know where it's from at all!!  She doesn't remember, and I haven't a clue, but it sure is cool!

It's not really duochrome, but it does have a bit of green and gold in it, so on my nails it looks like this photo:

This reminds me, I have to dig out those other polishes she gave me....

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

I've been using this mascara for a couple of weeks now. I really like it! It's supposed to "appear to grow" your lashes, whatever that means.  All the things I tried that do grow your lashes, brows, etc. they tend to work on me, but temporarily. I didn't really buy this for the growth aspect, but it really provides a lot of length and some thickness as well. I absolutely love how black it is! The brush is really long, but still easy to use and disperses well. It's not clumping or flaking on me either- I'd recommend!

EOTD: Orange

I finally got the Maybelline Color Tattoo "Fierce & Tangy", which I specifically wanted to use with the MAC Farasha eyeshadow I got.  Well, I still can't find it!!!  So I used an Inglot orange.  It was a work in progress haha...

First, it was just tooo orange:

Then I added some brown and a highlighter:

Finally, eyeliner:

For me, orange is one of the brighter colours I think I can actually wear...

what about you??

Bourjois Eyeshadow #93: Tabac Blond

This is an eyeshadow single I bought a while back.  I find it a bit hard for me to use single shadows, it's just easier if they're all together in a palette, but it's a beautiful shade.

Like the other Bourjois shadows I have, I found this one much better to use slightly damp.  This one doesn't have as much payoff as my others but I think it's in the normal range.  To be fair, my others do say "intense".  I also love the pot, a few of their shades have beautiful Parisian-themed motifs printed on the tops so they would be so lovely for little gifts in my opinion.

Pros: smooth, good pigmentation, no fall out

Cons:  I can't think of any...

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner: Purple

I love these eyeliners, but I didn't have the purple one yet.

I've noticed that some of these work in my inner eye, and others don't.  This one didn't but on my upper eye it was great, I don't use colored liners as often as I used to, but this one is lovely!

Pros:  good pigmentation, smooth, dries quickly, doesn't budge
Cons:  doesnt work in my inner eye but this might not apply to everyone

Essence I Love Runway Highlighter Pen

I bought this pen quite a long time ago, but I find myself using it more often than powder highlighters recently. It is a bit on the pink side, so I'm not sure how it would fare with different skin tones- on me, it was fine.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take better photos, but I felt like it was a bit too sparkly to use alone.

I felt it was better to use it under a concealer or bb cream, then it had a much better highlighting, rather than shimmering, effect. I really like the texture of this, it was really easy to work with but I found it easier to use a separate small brush to avoid overapplying. I really like the pen form, it's easier to target a concentrated area. Unfortunately it does fade about 2-3 hours in, but setting it with powder might extend that.

Pros: beautiful finish, applies smoothly, pen is convenient, inexpensive
Cons: could be a bit too sparkly, too pink-toned, not long lasting
